Today, I had the opportunity to share the journey of BSU Mandiri, a community-led waste management initiative in Sukabumi, Indonesia, during an online discussion with a student from BINUS Online who is currently working in Qatar.

The discussion focused on how community-based waste banks can contribute to reducing plastic waste, encouraging household waste separation, and strengthening environmental awareness at the neighborhood level.

What made this conversation meaningful was not where it took place, but what it represented.
A local initiative that started with residents working together in their own neighborhood is now becoming a learning resource beyond the community where it began.

At BSU Mandiri, we believe that sustainable environmental change is built through collaboration, education, and consistent community participation. Every household that chooses to separate waste, every volunteer who gives their time, and every local leader who supports the movement contributes to a more regenerative future.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the residents, volunteers, neighborhood leaders (RT/RW), and everyone involved in BSU Mandiri. This recognition belongs to our community.
