BSU Mandiri is a community-based waste management initiative from Sukabumi, Indonesia.
We are building practical systems that help communities and businesses recover resources, reduce waste and move toward a more circular local economy.
It started with one community.
BSU Mandiri began from the community level with a simple belief: waste that still has value should not simply become landfill waste.
Starting in Sukabumi, we developed a practical system around collection, weighing, recording and recovery of recyclable materials.
The experience taught us something important: lasting waste solutions are built through systems, participation and consistency.
